Twenty years from now, if and when it commemorated the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, will be for this game.

It will keep in mind the typically staid NHL going off message and inventing the two teams, including one from 23-and-under players from Canada and the United States, playing against national teams – considered the idea ridiculous, mostly when it was announced a year ago.

Until they started playing.

Team North America could be done at the World Cup. Even though Finland banged goal and lost to Russia. Although Wednesday night, that added to the extension thriller, accumulating breaks and end-to-end rushes and Dekese to Sweden – defensive power – in a 4-3 victory.
Americans dreaded second-best hockey players in the world from the opening faceoff, with the aim of Auston Matthews 30 seconds penalty Johnny Gaudreau shot 26 seconds later and Vincent Trocheck 2-0 goal just 39 seconds after that.

I really enjoyed being there playing. Big game, big game, not being able to play the first, you never know where it’s going when it is not healthy “.

Tuukka Rask, from the Finnish Pekka Rinne’s goal, stopped 27 shots.

“We played a great game, started well, created many good chances, but we did not score,” said Finnish coach Lauri Marjamäki. “Of course the goalie Lundqvist was impressive. But so proud of my players and our team effort. It was very well today. But it is not enough.”

The Finnish Mikael Granlund had two excellent scoring chances just after the halfway mark of the third, but Lundqvist got his platform right at the first shot and Granlund put his rebound off the post.

The confrontation was physical in the third when Finland’s Sami Lepisto caught Mikael Backlund of Sweden with a questionable high hit just inside the blue line in Sweden with just over nine minutes to play.
